British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos stated on Wednesday night. The athlete was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The boxer had been under observation while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”
His release from the hospital comes as the sports world had expressed condolences for the star in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
