The Opening Xbox Game Pass Additions of 2026 Reveal Xbox Is Still Fighting.

Everywhere you go, enthusiasts continue to ring the funeral bells for Microsoft's gaming division. Xbox was recently outsold by a relatively obscure console. Dedicated Xbox communities began covering on PS5 topics unprecedentedly. 2025 was complete chaos for Xbox and Microsoft. Yet, based exclusively on the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it becomes clear that Microsoft still intends to attract subscribers with compelling titles on its key platform.

The Immediate Additions

A pair of titles you can play right now as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's worth getting excited about.

Major Titles on the Horizon

Come mid-January, Game Pass will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that deviates from the standard Ubisoft formula with a cosmic robbery tale. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, which our 2021 review called "an ideal blend of terror and combat."

Noteworthy Smaller Games

Yet, the less-hyped additions coming to Game Pass soon deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that is incredibly fun, drops on Jan. 7th — and it's worth experiencing regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.

The game set in a ruined Britain from last year could captivate you remarkably quickly.

Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by Rebellion Developments, is also a game to check out. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.

A Solid, Curated Lineup

Ultimately, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they are also not tentpole Microsoft studios games that justify the service in the first place. However, this batch of games are rock solid. It offers a healthy blend of past releases that passed you by and relatively recent releases that didn't get the attention they warranted upon launch — transforming them into excellent choices to get a second chance on Game Pass.

Hope you're ready to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
